Mother's Day Card 2012

As promised, here is my Mother's Day card.  It's all Stampin' Up! products in Very Vanilla; the brads in the flowers I don't remember where they came from, sorry.  You can barely see the embossing I have on the background.  The ribbon is the white taffeta but I used the crumb cake ink to change the color to vanilla.

Birthday Surprises

Family, this is why I haven't posted in a week or so.  Earlier posts told you about my mother's 90th birthday party planning, and we surprised her by inviting her sisters and my cousin from Alabama who she hasn't seen in a while.  It began in January planning the surprise and it was very hard to keep it a secret and not slip up while speaking with her day to day for 3 months!  It worked and she was completely speechless!  I love her so....
Below is a picture with some of the grandchildren (Blake, Chelsea and Charlotte Claire) and on the right is the second big surprise we had for Mom...her grandson Jesse and his mother Denise all the way from California...yep, she was in tears because she thought she would never see him again :(
Tomorrow, see her Mother's Day card I made.

My mother and I are huge flower fans so this is the card I made her for her 90th birthday party tonight.  All products are Stampin' Up!  The flower is melon mambo and I used the pink spritz to lighten and shine some parts after running through the embossing folder.
Thanks for visiting....

Amarylis

I love beautiful flowers and this is one of my pride and joy!  These are the King Albert variety and as you can see, they grow tall and the blooms are huge.  My next task is to fill my hummingbird feeders (behind planter)  and let the little birds start coming in.
I am off again tomorrow for Florence to meet my aunts driving in from Alabama for my mother's 90th birthday celebration...it's a surprise for mom as she hasn't seen them in a few years.  Also, she doesn't know Jesse and family are surprising her Saturday at the party!  It's going to be a FUN weekend!
I will be back to posting on a regular basis soon......

Spring Covered Book

This is a covered notebook I designed as a prize for our Carolina Girls card swap on May 5th in Charleston.  The winner will be the person with the best handmade name tag.  I left the sentiment off at the top so the winner can personalize it with what they want to say.  All products used are Stampin Up with the exception of the leaves which are by Spellbinders.  The covered brad with the white tulips is from Stampin Ups new line, Summer Smooches.

I am off to Myrtle Beach with family then back to Florence where my son will fly in from Steamboat Springs, CO with his daughter, my grand baby Claire, who is 11 months. We will be staying with my oldest son and his family who live in Florence, SC.  Also, my mother turns 90 this Saturday and we are grilling out...I love grilled food!

The reason for this commentary is to let you know I will not be back to posting for at least a week.  April lhas turned out to be a busy month!  Thanks for visiting.....

Scrapbooking 4

You can see the love in the face of my grandson!  His mommy and daddy are great parents and they take him everywhere they go; he is now 5 and going to kindergarten.
I love this paper set by My Mind's Eye.  Thanks for visiting....

Scrapbooking 3

Scrapbooking is easy when you have a good subject.  In my case, it's my family.  This is my oldest son, David, holding up fish he caught while on an oil rig out in the Gulf of Mexico in Galveston, TX.  Him and his wife were living in Bryan, TX while Crystal was working on her PhD at Texas A&M (I have pages of that too).
They make stickers for just about everything!  You'll see a lot of different ones on my pages.  Thanks for visiting.....

Scrapbooking 2

Yesterday you saw an 80's picture; today we moved forward in time.  This is a black and white page I created from a picture taken where Kevin lives in Colorado (where they have Christmas trees all year long!)  His brother David went from South Carolina to visit. This is a page in an album I created for David's son, Grady so the sentiment within the heart is me talking to him.  Thanks for visiting....

Scrapbooking

Well, you wouldn't know it but we do; this is an 80s picture.  I mean, look at the hair!  It was taken at my nephew's, Lauren, wedding rehearsal.  This is a page I created using stickers, grommets and journaling around the picture.  Click to view the journaling.  Thanks for visiting.....

April Fool's Day

HAPPY APRIL FOOL's DAY!  Don't pinch anyone too hard.....
Another clean and simple card along the same line as Friday's post.  I inked Tangerine Tango on the embossing folder, ran through the Big Shot, tied the Tangerine Tango ribbon, and cut the large butterfly in Tempting Turquoise to match the card base and the scallop oval with the sentiment stamped in Tangerine Tango.  I hand placed the white dots on the scalloped oval for even more texture. I used classic pearls for the butterfly body.
